2. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Order data: name and phone number submitted via the order form on our website.
  • Contact data: name, email address and message content submitted via our contact form.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent - collected automatically via server logs and analytics cookies.
  • Cookie and tracking data: identifiers set by Google Analytics and Google Ads (see Section 8 and our Cookie Policy).

3. How and Why We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes and on the following lawful bases under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where applicable, the EU GDPR (Article 6):

  • Order fulfilment: processing and confirming your Hardero order - lawful basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Customer communications: responding to enquiries and providing order support - lawful basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Analytics and site improvement: understanding how visitors use our site - lawful basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained via our cookie banner.
  • Advertising: delivering and measuring the effectiveness of Google Ads campaigns - lawful basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

4. Google Ads, Remarketing and Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics (Universal Analytics and GA4) and Google Ads, including remarketing features. These services use cookies to collect data about your browsing behaviour. We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 - by default, all advertising and analytics cookies are denied until you explicitly accept via our cookie banner. On acceptance, the following cookies may be set:

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics): used to distinguish users and sessions; expires 2 years.
  • _gid (Google Analytics): used to distinguish users; expires 24 hours.
  • _gcl_au (Google Ads): used to store and track conversions; expires 90 days.

Google may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics via Google's opt-out browser add-on.

5. Data Retention

Order and contact data is retained for 24 months from the date of collection, or as required by applicable law. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's standard retention periods (26 months for GA4). You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. International Data Transfers

When you use Google services on our website, your data may be transferred to Google's servers in the United States. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We rely on standard contractual clauses as a transfer mechanism where required by GDPR.

7. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (right to erasure)
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability (where processing is based on consent or contract)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing prior to withdrawal)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) - New Zealand's data protection supervisory authority - at www.privacy.org.nz or by phone on 0800 803 909.

9. Google Maps
